Castaños is a town in the Mexican state of Coahuila, located in the center of the state,county seat of  Castaños . Part of the Metropolitan Area Monclova.

the town of Auburn is located in  Castaños  Township (in the State of Coahuila de Zaragoza). It has 21,256 inhabitants.  Castaños   is 750 meters.


It limits the north with the municipalities of Sacramento, Frontera, Monclova, on the south by the municipality of Ramos Arizpe, on the east with the state of Nuevo Leon,on the northeast by the municipality of Cande's and the west of Cuatro.

Historical Monuments

Architectural: The Church of Our Lady of Good Success, built in 1896, the railroad station, built in 1884, a monument to Hidalgo, the work of 1915, church monument Bajan in Arrest hill, where the apprehension occurred the leaders of theindependence on March 21, 1811.

Historical: The tomb of Ildefonso Fuentes, 1874.
