Heroic Guaymas is a port city in the Mexican state of Sonora. It is located 117 kmsouth of Hermosillo, the capital of Sonora, north of Ciudad Obregon. It is the head of the municipality of Guaymas.
Guaymas is the second largest port on Mexico's Pacific coast, after the Manzanillo(Colima). [citation needed] It is a major shrimp producing cities of northern Mexicoand before that was also highlighted by his capture of oysters.
The city is located in a semiarid area. The climate is dry and hot, with temperatures ofup to 47 º C in July and August, average minimum temperatures of up to 8 ° C inJanuary and February.
