The city of Zacatecas is located in a canyon formed by the hills of La Bufa and ElGrillo. These topographic features contributed to the construction of a cable car that crossed the city. Zacatecas thus became one of the first cities in the world that canbe crossed by moving in a cable car. This attraction started in 1979 and wasinstalled by a Swiss national. It has two stations: one at the bottom of the Cerro delGrillo, and another in the far northwest of Cerro de la Bufa. People walking along the historic center or who concluded a visit to the Eden Mine are dealing with the cable car station at Cerro del Grillo to carry them up the hill station of La Bufa. It is a journey of 650 meters with a duration of seven minutes. From its height can enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the city of Zacatecas, a World Heritage Site. Upon arrival at Cerro de la Bufa can continue on foot towards the Sanctuary of Our Lady of the Sponsor, the Museum of the Taking of Zacatecas, the Meteorological Observatory, the Mexican Revolution Square, the Mausoleum of Illustrious Personsof Zacatecas. Those who addressed the cable car station at the Cerro de La Bufadown to the other station is within walking distance of the historic center and the entrance to the Mine of Eden.
