Cualac in Nahuatl means "in good water" in the words cualli, well, atl, water c, locative. It is unknown the date on which this town was settled, but is referenced to the peopling of the region Tlapaneca under that Cualac was Tlapa community.
Location: The town belongs to the Mountain region, is located northeast ofChilpancingo, between latitudes 17 ° 36 '54''and 17 ° 51' 26''north latitude and 98 °35 '11''and 98 ° 45 '51''west longitude. It has an area of 305 km2. It borders thefollowing municipalities: to the north Olinalá, south of Tlapa de ComonfortHuamuxtitlán the east, and west and Olinalá Ahuacuotzingo. Its county seat, the same name, is located 200 km from state capital and has an altitude of 1450meters.
