Leon is a city in the Mexican state of Guanajuato. which together with the ZML (ZonaMetropolitana de León) forms the 6th Metropoli the country, has a total population of1,436.733 inhabitants according to 2010 census, being the most populous city in the metropolitan area of Leon and Guanajuato . The municipal territory includes area1183.20 km ², equivalent to 3.87% of the total area of the state of Guanajuato. Thetown is bordered by the following municipalities: the north by the municipality of SanFelipe, on the east with those of Guanajuato and Silao, to the south with those ofSilao, Romita, and San Francisco del Rincon and the West with that of theImmaculate Corner and the municipalities of Lagos de Moreno and La Union de SanAntonio (State of Jalisco).
