Coyotepec is located on the west bank of the great valley with two different formationsof the land. The first on top, formed by volcanic rocks of the Tertiary period and cinderproducts caused by volcanic eruptions, the second on the floor, created by volcanic ash and sediment caused by erosion, and also of different materials that eventuallyended in the early flora and large mammals that lived in the area of the lakedepression that forms a wide basin of Mexico.
