Zipolite is a small town in the Mexican Pacific coast in the state of Oaxaca, located 3 km from the town of Puerto Angel and incorporated into the municipality of San Pedro Pochutla. It is located 230 kilometers from the city of Oaxaca de Juarez, the state capital

Acquired the name of population in 1970, because until then lived in the area only a few families scattered through the area. It is the most famous nude beach in Mexico. It has a population of about 1000 people, although this figure is higher due to both internal and external tourism.

It is an open ocean beach about 2 miles long and 40 meters wide on average.
The golden sand is medium grained and moderate slope. The water is crystal blue and green hues, regularly tuned, dominated by strong waves. In the Nahuatl language means the dead beach Playa de los Muertos, or because of dangerous currents.
