Zinacantán is a municipality in the state of Chiapas, México.Is located in the area commonly known as the Altos de Chiapas. 30,742 inhabitants, of whom the majority (98%) is tsotsil (or Tzotzil ethnic group of Mayan cultural and linguistic family) and only a small portion is mixed. Its area is approximately 171.4 square kilometers.
The main celebrations of the town are the St. Lawrence Martyr, patron of the place holder, from 8 to Aug. 10 and San Sebastian Martin from 18 to 22 January. Also of great splendor and celebrate Easter and Christmas.

The Feast of All Saints and All Souls' (more commonly known as the Day of the Dead), held in January and 2 November respectively, is also one of the highlights of the annual list of traditional holidays.
