Xochimilco, Mexico df

Xochimilco is characterized by the existence of channels giving a very special dye around the Valley of Anahuac. This site, the topography and flow of a series of springs at the edge of the mountains, has allowed to present an attractive place with its canals, the chinampas, with its flowers, with its ornate trajineras, inviting visiting sites most picturesque in the Federal District.

 The flora and fauna of Xochimilco is plentiful and varied. The vegetation is formed mainly by ahuejotes, typical trees of the region, planted in the margins of the chinampas. Importantly, Xochimilco is the only place in the country where you can appreciate the unique characteristics tree, whose main function is to set the chinampas to the lake bottom without removing too much light to crops, because its foliage is vertical. In the territory of Xochimilco are fourteen native who retain many features of their traditional culture and indigenous heritage, despite the advancement of urbanización.3 In contrast, the northern part of Xochimilco is fully integrated into the urban area of the City of Mexico, and in it some industrial and service areas are an important part of the economic life of the delegation are based. It is located southeast of Mexico City; adjoins the Tlalpan, Coyoacán, and Milpa Alta Tláhuac delegations. Its land area is 125.2 square kilometers, representing 8.4% of DF
