Cuerámaro, Guanajuato
Cuerámaro is one of 46 municipalities in the state of Guanajuato, Mexico.
Cuerámaro is a Tarascan word meaning "the shelter of the swamp." This regionwas originally inhabited by Indians Huachichiles, who were dominated by theTarascan until the early sixteenth century.
The municipality is located at 101 ° 40'24'' longitude west of Greenwich and 20 °37'30'' north latitude. The area occupied by the municipality is 243.5 km2, accounting for 0.8% of the total area of the state, and 3.6% of the subregion.Bordered on the north by the Municipality of Romita, on the east with that ofAbasolo, on the south and the west Pénjamo with Manuel Bent. The average heightabove sea level is 1.720 meters.
