Ciudad Guzmán is a city in the Mexican state of Jalisco. Located 139 km south of Guadalajara, at an altitude of 1.507 meters over sea level. According to theCensus of Population and Housing 2010 by the INEGI, had a population of100.534 inhabitants.
Ciudad Guzmán is the head of the municipality of Zapotlan el Grande, with an area of 295.29 square kilometers with a population density of 325.27inhabitants per square kilometer. Before the Spanish arrived, this area was the kingdom of Zapotlan, which was conquered in 1526.
