ciudad victoria


is the capital of the Mexican state of Tamaulipas, and is located in northeastern Mexico. Founded as Villa de Santa María de Aguayo by José de Escandon in his second season of colonization in the eighteenth century. Significantly, it is a city with high living standards. In its 1755 report to the Viceroy, Escandon described the settlement as follows:
