Thirty years ago Revillagigedo Islands were one of the richest islands in the eastern Pacific. World famous for the abundance of apex predators like hammerhead sharks,giant mantas Pacific, and yellow tail tuna, these islands have been decimated byover-exploitation and what remains to them is seriously threatened.belong to the state Colima in Mexico. This is a group of four volcanic islands in the Pacific Ocean. They are known for their unique ecosystem. The islands total area is157.81 km2. In one of the islands Socorro Island is a maritime station. The islandshave nobre the viceroy of New Spain, Don Juan Vicente de Guemes PadillaHorcasitas Aguayo, Conde de Revillagigedo.
