port of Lazaro Cardenas, is the head of one of the 113 municipalities of the state of Michoacan, located south of the state, right on the border with the state of Guerrero,which is bordered by the Rio Balsas, According to the latest count Population andHousing, conducted in 2005 by INEGI, the municipality of Lázaro Cárdenas in thatyear had a population of 162997 inhabitants. Lazaro Cardenas is characterized by the steel manufacturing and exporting world class, globally, in addition to a widevariety of beaches and natural areas that make the town a great place for tourism.The city takes its name from the illustrious General Lázaro Cárdenas del Río, who was president of Mexico from November 30, 1934 to December 1, 1940.
There are beaches for all tastes, ranging from soft and caressing waters (for familieswith children), through stormy open sea waves for surfing, places where nature wasvery kind to provide them with a variety of animal and plant species.
