Located on the Pacific coast in Oaxaca state. the Huatulco tourist industry is centered in its nine bays, hence the name Bays of Huatulco, but has since been unofficially reduced simply to Huatulco. You will find a variety of accommodations, from rooms for rent, small economy hotels, luxury villas beachfront vacation condominiums, boutique hotels, luxury hotels, along with several standing at or near the coast Bay Tangolunda. Zaashila El Camino Real, Quinta Real Huatulco, Las Brisas, Dreams Resort & Spa (formerly the Hotel Gala) and Barceló are examples of the most popular larger resorts in the area. Huatulco is located in the state of Oaxaca where the foothills of the Sierra Madre del Sur on the Pacific Ocean, about 500 km south of Acapulco, Guerrero., The population is 50 000.



Huatulco Bays are divided into four main districts. Tangolunda is the area where luxury resorts are large, Santa Cruz is a small city with the port and main beach of Santa Cruz, La Crucecita, is another small town within the beach area that offers support to the area, and Chahué is an area between Santa Cruz and Tangolunda.




The Bays of Huatulco (Huatulco) are actually formed by a series of nine bays and numerous small coves stretching along 26 kilometers of jagged coastline, including 36 white sand beaches. The central bay is the Bay of Santa Cruz, which is just south of the city of La Crucecita. It is also the center of commercial and tourist activities, with a great spring cruise ships dock. Many complex offerings can be found here, such as hotels, souvenir shops, discos, bars, restaurants, tour operators, sailing boat excursions and scuba diving, snorkeling and jet skis for rent. The Chapel of Santa Cruz is where many weddings and baptisms are held by the sea. Santa Cruz beach is the best known of the beaches here. It is 250 meters long, with soft white sand and turquoise water.




To the east of Santa Cruz are the bays of Bay Chahué, Conejos Tangolunda Bay Bay. These are the most developed areas of Huatulco. Chahue Bay is 2 miles east of Santa Cruz and its name means "fertile land or wet" in Zapotec. It has a marina for yachts large and small, with three main beaches, Chahué, Hope and Badger. Although it's wide beaches, moderate waves, less visited than those in Santa Cruz. Three miles east of Bay Tangolunda is Chahué, with five beaches, Ventura, Manzanillo, Tornillo, Tangolunda and Rincon Sabroso. Here the water varies between blue and emerald green. Most larger hotels are located in this bay. Residential Conejos is 4 km east of Tangolunda and has some of the larger residential houses in the area, some of which are vacation rentals. The mouth of the Rio (River) Copalita is slightly east of Conejos Bay and has a beach area. East of the River Copalita are beaches that stretch all the way to the Isthmus of Tehuantepec. Two of these beaches are Barra de la Cruz and Playa Mojon. Some big-wave surf can be found on these beaches. Barra de la Cruz is one of the best and most easily accessible. Playa El Mojon may, at certain times of year are very good surf is also a great place to explore.
