Manialtepec Lagoon. It lies 16 km west of Puerto Escondido, by federal highway. 200. It is a body of water 8 km long, surrounded by mangroves and a variety of vegetation. Here you can observe various colonies of water birds like cormorants and anhingas and songbirds and iguanas.
Mazunte. It is located 50 km east of Puerto Escondido, by federal highway. 200. Here you can see examples of forests and vegetation, as well as over 20 species of trees and mangroves. You will also see sea turtles nest along the beach while and participate in the activities of the Centro Mexicano de la Tortuga, dedicated to the study and protection of this endangered species.
